“I said to my sister: can you imagine going into the grocery store on May 1st, scanning your groceries, and walking out without paying? Then going back three days later and doing the same thing, all month long. At the end of the month, the grocery store sends you a bill for $1,437.24, and you think, ‘Wait a minute, how did I buy that much?’

“That’s how we buy electricity. We use it every day, but we don’t find out what it costs until the bill arrives. Sense tells me how much energy I’m using every day, so my bill should never be a surprise.”
